and other necessary expenses not otherwise covered by medical insurance and typically absorbed by the patients’ families.

Alicia’s Lungs, Inc. is an Ohio Nonprofit Corporation that offers grants for costs and other necessary expenses not otherwise covered by medical insurance and typically absorbed by the patients’ families directly to providers for cystic fibrosis patients who need or have had a double lung transplant and their families. Examples of costs includes, but is not limited to, travel and relocation costs like transportation, parking, lodging, utilities, telephone, laundry, food, mortgage payment assistance, care, and nursing, as well as medical insurance deductibles and co-payments and uncovered amounts for medical expenses, prescriptions, personnel and equipment and other necessary expenses not reimbursed by medical insurance
